im looking at getting a graphics card for my system, but first im getting a new HDD

here are the three im looking at:

1.NVIDIA GeForce 8600GTS, 675MHz GPU, 256MB 128bit DDR3($175.99)

2.EVGA e-GeForce 8600GT 540MHz GPU, 512MB 128bit DDR3($150.99)

3.MSI GeForce 8600GT 560MHz GPU, 256MB 128bit DDR3($111.99)

im leaning towards the first one, but the second one is more in my price area

tell me what you think

If your going to get a GTS and you can afford it, don't. Get the 3850, it outperforms the 8600GTS but a lot and only costs $160.

my evga 7600gt is 560mhz stock, how come the one you've listed is 540?

edit: whoops, nevermind :p you showed a 8600gt lmao

Tim, have you looked at what we have at work? We can get those cheaper.

It really depends on what you want to play. The GTS might be overkill. If the GT is more in your price range, definitely get it. Depending on the games you're wanting to play, performance may be virtually identical.

idk why it says 540MHz its listed like that, thats interesting

but the thing is my work doesnt sell the 3850,

those are the three i was looking at unless i want to go up to the 8800 but those are pricy

YES dan, i just posted retail, ill change those to show my price

im looking at playing COD4 and cyrsis

some good new games, that are hardcore, i mean look at the sys i have

I have an 8600 gt 512 and cod4 and crysis both dont run that well at medium settings, if ur looking at intense gaming ur going to need the 8800 series wait a little and the new 9xxx with drop the 8800's

man all those cards are overpriced. Leadtek 8600GT's with 512mb are for sale on newegg right now for 92.99. Leadtek is a very good brand.
