I have recently bought and installed stalker and dark messiah of might and magic on my pc and both of them have glitches and problems, and I think it might be my hardware but I don't know what. here is my setup
amd 4000+ san diego
asus a8r32-mvp deluxe
120gb hard drive(dunno brand)
2 gigs ocz ddr pc4000(the one with the gold heatsinks)
sound blaster audigy2 zs
ati x1900 crossfire edition(512 gddr3)
I recently reformatted, and have updated the graphics card drivers and patched both games with the latest patches. Also ran surface scan on hard drive and 0 bad sectors found. Here is the kicker, I can run both Fear and oblivion at near max settings. Any Idea what's going on? On stalker npc's just randomly disappear and the gun doesn't want to reload sometimes, and on dark messiah the game will freeze for a second, then run for 3 or 4 and freeze again for a second and just keep doing that. I have tried both on lowest settings and all the problems remain. How can I test different hardware to see if its malfunctioning with a program, like test the motherboard or hard drive? I think it might be the motherboard but I don't know how to test.
