Hello all,

I am using a Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5974. For the past few days, I've been trying to find the CMOS battery on it (you know, the thing that stores the BIOS) and I can't find it. I've taken apart my laptop and still can't find it. Does anyone have any helpful advice or know the exact location of the battery?

you might have to remove the motherboard...from what I Google'd, its very hard to get at.

Furthermore, if anyone knows a manufacturer password or some way to bypass the current password as I forgot it (thanks to my horrible memory), that would be nice.

i'm not sure if this is as common as it seems, but i always seem to find that the CMOS battery is usually near the northbridge of the chipset, which is often somewhere near to the processor.

jumpering the CMOS rather than just removing the battery sometimes works.
