Default Need Help Choosing a Gaming Desktop Computer

Originally I had started a thread about a gaming laptop, but I have decided that I need to get a desktop computer instead. I need it to be fairly graphics-intensive, to run games like EVE Online and such. Like the title states, it is mostly going to be for gaming, but also some minor tasks such as browsing and word processing for homework. It would also be great if it could be done for under $1000. Which computer packages would you recommend for this?
P.S. Building from scratch is not really an option here.
Thanks!

Building from scratch, you mean you don't want to build it or you would like to buy all the pieces in one package?

I mean I would prefer to buy the computer pre-assembled with everything I need--I am not the greatest with technology and I do not feel comfortable straying from the pre-assembled computers.
