Question Need Help

my wife moved one folder into another one and now we can't open the folder, right clicking says that it is empty but a virus scan shows all the files there. if i try to move it i get a access denied. we are the admins on this machine but nothing i have done works.

i have also tried archiving it, zipping it, rar it, i even tried to copy it to another location via dos but it does not work.

i am running windows xp pro.

please help my wife has over 11 years of writing in that folder and we have no clue what to do.

Which directory did she drop it in??

Sounds like a Windows protected directory, you may need to alter the folder security options to be able to manipulate it.

What operating system are you running?

It appears as the folder doesn't have access rights for your user.

Boot into safe and try to copy it, seems weird if it is just a data drive where it got dropped, are any of the directories involved encrypted or protected in any other way??
