Need help

hello, my brother computer come with an error msg after the loading screen for windows xp. With a Blue screen saying this: STOP C00000021a (fatal system error) the windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with statics of 0x00000142 BALAL something along though longs. Does it need a reformat?

Not quite sure what the error message means, either way your computer probbly could do with a reformat if you have never done so!Still see what other members come up with

Try booting into safemode and do a system restore from there, I can only find a fault simular to yours on microsofts web site but thats for server 2003 so not sure either

Formatting is required. Use Boot from CD
Or try going into safemode, as jack said and try either a system restore or use "Last good known configuration"
