Need a cheap laptop for Ubuntu

I need a small (Preferably 12" to 13") thin laptop to run Ubuntu on, I'm needing it for school as well to take notes on.

I cannot go over the price of 300 US $.

The laptop needs to be thin and able to run Ubuntu well.

Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

Use this list [ubuntu.com]. My personal experience has been good with Acer and Asus laptops running Xubuntu.

Dell, HP, and other major brands have refurbished laptops for reasonable cost. Some companies have leased items that have been taken in as trade for upgrades.
Shop around. You'll only find that exceptional bargain if you take the time to look for it.
