I received the above dvd writer today and attached it the computer. And as soon as Windows finds it and displays 'Found new hardware - CD ROM' the computer resets.
I have a hard drive on the Primary master, a cd writer on Primary Slave.
The new dvd writer was going on the Secondary Master and the old dvd writer on the Secondary slave.
I've tried putting the drive in by itself and it still had the same problem.
I have also tried attaching just the cd rom in the new position and that had the same problem.
Any ideas why Windows suddenly dislikes detecting new drives?
