Default Nautilus acting up

Ok, so I'm on my second day of Linux.
I'm using Fedora Core 5.
Everything runs perfectly fine and smooth, except for nautilus.

The problem I'm having is Nautilus is being a RAM hog.
It'll be at a normal 10-15mb, then rise up to around 300mb, and suddenly drop down to 10-15mb again.

Having 512mb of RAM, this greatly effects my performance.

Thank you.

Kernel release is "2.6.17-1.2157_FC5smp" if that matters.
