If you have an old computer and hard drives sitting around you might try making your own. FreeNAS is good software for setting up your own NAS. You don't need a fast computer, or much RAM, and when set up, you access the FreeNAS server over the network. After set up you don't even need a keyboard, mouse, or monitor connected to the NAS, just an ethernet cable.
