The Difference Between Laptop and Netbook.

That might explain it for you.

A net-book is like a mini laptop.

Notebook and laptop are interchangeable terms. They're pretty much the same thing, just a portable computer in a laptop style above 12 inches. A netbook is a smaller version of a laptop/notebook that's under 12 inches. It's meant as ultra low power, ultra portable use. It's not gaming opriented, just a computer to get onto the net, thus a netbook.

Netbook - a very small laptop designed for the internet and nothing else, they often run email and browsers and not much in addition to that. Some take office, but some don't even run windows.

Notebook - just a common name for what you probably know as a 'laptop' - 14 to 17ish inch screens, few gigs RAM and often better graphics and CPUs, designed to be a 'desktop' computer that you can carry around.
