my updated rig for games?

hey guys i was wondering will my rig be able to handle today's games such as fear 2 mirrors edge ect with my set up. i have a msi radeon 4830 overclocked 2 gigs of ram and 2.4ghz athlon 64 3400+

You could really use a new CPU but other than that, your system looks good to me.

I Recomend a new CPU Aswell,It would be bottlenecking the GPU.

yea i hear my processor is equivalent to a p4 3.2ghz or higher is this true?

No,Unless it's the X2 Athlon (Dual Core) It'll perform nowhere near a p4 3.2.

For new games, I recommend getting at least a Dual core CPU.

are you sure because i have read reviews comparing the p4 3.2ghz to the amd athlon 64 3400+ and it actually says mine is a bit faster and better for gaming.

but my motherboard is an msi 7145 by the way which i hear isnt really upgradeable besides the 3700+ which sucks for me because its hard to find expensive and has a decent speed for single cores anyways

The Athlon 64s were a lot faster than the P4s clock for clock, I would not be surprised if it matched a 3.2 P4.
