Before you make any rash choices, tell me if you would be at all willing to overclock your CPU.

If yes, then there is very little difference as to what dual-core processor you get. You can even get an E6600 for like $60 and overclock it to run at ~3.2Ghz.

You are paying for the number of cores and for clock speed. That is all, the rest is frills. If you are set on having a dual-core processor and are open to overclocking, it is stupid to get an expensive dual-core processor as you can just overclock a less expensive one to that speed.

Get my drift?

He is ordering from Ebuyer which i think is not a USA Store

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/141006 PSU

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/190673 CPU

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/118268 Case

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/173804 HDD

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/129233 CD Drive (Honestly Blu Ray drives aren't worth it for PC's, you'll get the same video from a HD dvd through your monitor)

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/195442 GPU ( Way better then the other one)

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/169532 (Great motherboard Reputable brand)

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/178943 RAM (DDR3 to accommodate the new CPU and MOBO)

The total is 636.76

If you get the GPU you recommended

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/189258

It would be around 616

There you go. This is a better set up than the Intel rig you first linked.

He would also need DDR 3 RAM, Take a look at my Build it has those same parts in it.

So AMD is the way to go? Will this give me good upgrading prospects in the future?

Got ya.

Holysky has it covered. It's a nice set up there.

How well will that Antec PSU cover me for when I upgrade i.e add cooling fans, a graphics card or a sound card?

I'm pretty sure it will. That set up will last you a long time before you need to upgrade. I'm on year 6 with this PC all i did was get a new GFX card. Your wouldn't need that though.

It could run pretty much everything except a crossfire set up. Sound Card it's fine, fans your cool, and gfx you shouldn't need to, but you will. They get more energy efficient as the years go on.
