Is my processor 64 bit compatable?

Here is exactly what it tells me about my computer's processor:

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+, 2.11 GHz

Does that 64 mean that my processor can support 64 bit?

Indeed. Every AMD CPU out of the fabs since the Athlon 64 was released is 64 bit capable, unlike Intel chips for a while there, you had to pay more to get access to the EM64T extensions. If there's a 64 in the name, or it's an Athlon II, Phenom, Phenom II CPU, it supports 64 bit completely.

Well, looks like I have to go and get Windows 7 64 bit sometime soon!
