some how my acer erecover went bye bye and my acer webcam and a few other progys wont work contacted acer and they told me to purchase recovery disc heck the darn thing is only 3 weeks old is there any other way to recover it thanks guys

just install XP, if you have a disc

i have xp disc but vista came with this machine does that make any difference with drivers/ hardware etc

It makes a huge difference with drivers. Before you try XP, make sure that Acer has all the needed drivers for XP. Most times they only have Vista drivers. Since that was what the system was built and designed with.
