Ok so i just installed a new gpu and used my computer for about 20min. Then i put my computer in sleep mode and placed my system in another place. I did a dumbass move and unplugged the power cord to untangle some wires. I tried to turn my computer back on but it turned on for half a second. I got my brother in law and we opened to see the hardware. We turned it on and saw that split second where all the fans turned on EXCEPT the fan to the power supply.did i short-circuit the power supply? This past month my cpu has also had random restarts on its own too. My brother in law brought up the possibility that my 450W power supply couldnt handle my new gpu. Could that be the problem?
My gpu is a XFX radeon 7750
We are thinking about getting another power supply. Can all power supplies be installed into a computer? My computer is about 3-4 years old.
And if i get a new power supply will it remember all my programs and softwares?
