Yes, but they aren't fully utilizing even a dual core. I'm not saying quad is better, I'm simply saying that for the price increase, it would probably be smarter to go with a dual core. You can upgrade later when quads aren't as pricey and when they are needed. Also it sounds like he mainly plays games, and doesn't edit videos or anything. So a quad would be overkill IMO. Not that it really matters anymore, because he said he already got it.

To upgrade from a C2D@3.0GHZ to that quad core is what 30 dollars? Then about 6 months later, fork out another 200 dollars to upgrade?
