my laptop goes into sleep-mode everytime i close it

I have a Dell Vostro 1400 Laptop, and everytime I close it it goes into "hibernate" sleep mode. how can i change this so it just stays on my desktop even when I put the screen down (to carry it somewhere)

What OS are you using?

If you right-click, go into Properties, then Screen Saver, then "Power Saving", there should be an area that allows you to choose what the laptop does when the screen is closed.

hes right,
right click anywhere on the desktop and go to properties, then screensaver, then power saving. there should be alotta stuff u can change
