It can help, especially if you're overclocking, but you don't need it. I helped my friend OC his new one to 3GHZ with stock cooling (could easily go higher, but I didn't have any more time to play around with it) with the vcore an 1.4V, and it stays below 40C.

Nice build. You wont need the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 as the Q6600 comes with a cooler.

If my system will not run game smoothly(which i highly doubt) than i will be overclocking. other than that would it be safe to save the 30$? I have the money to spend but dont want to be spending it on something that will be completely useless

I highly reccomend this case because i know it will fit anything in it up to 12.5 inch card and a huge HSF

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119137

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119157 if your a Nvidia enthusiast

also take a look at the video on this page. both case have the same specs so it counts for both and doesnt matter which website they are the same product

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&Sku=C283-1189

i hope you find the video very informative
