My build:
Antec Three Hundred gaming case Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4-B3 LGA1155 Intel Core i5-2500K LGA1155 G.skill Ripjaws X Series 16gb (4 X 4gb) 240-pin Ddr3 EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti FPB Graphics Card Corsair Builder Series 600 Watt Intel 320 Series 80 GB SATA 3.0 Caviar Blue 250GB 7,200 RPM Viewsonic VX2250WM-LED 22-inch widescreen Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit Samsung Blu-Ray Combo Internal LITE-ON 12X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 12X DVD-RAM 8X BD-ROM Western Digital SuperSpeed USB 3.0 PCI Express (PCIe) Card Hauppauge Colossus PCI Express Internal HD-PVR Any flaws in this? This is my first build and i want to do it right. I won't buy the parts until i get a good enough input from people who know more than I. This is a build i can live with at first, i will be including more hardware like blu-ray burners, and larger hard drives, but for now this is it. Are there better one's than Hauppauge? Does having an SSD make a big difference, or can i just us the other HD? I think the RAM is overkill. What do you think? DDR3 is not that expensive and later on i might need more (?). I will use this system to play games, edit video from my 1080p camera and record HD movies as well as play them...this is a general all purpose media center with (i hope) great gaming potential. Any ideas appreciated, thanks. Sorry about the heading, there doesn't seem to be a way to edit it as i edited the body of the post. Last edited by danlnad; 01-10-2012 at 05:02 PM. Reason: a mistake |

maybe a larger power supply. especially if you plan on adding more later.
other than that, looks good. any changes would most likely be personal preference.
