Default My first build and i screwed it up

OK i installed everything exept the little LED cords for the power switch. when i tried to install them (following the MOBO manual) and i couldn't get them to work. everytime i turned it on it went into a constant restarting right away, lol. now here is where i really screwd up, i couldn't use the front power switch to turn it off so i had to use the kill switch on the PSU. after i shut it off i recheck the cords and to my knowledge they were in right. i decided to try moving them aroung a bit(flipping cords) and that didn't help. keep in mind everytime i turn the computer on i had to use the kill switch to turn it off. well i did it a bunch of times and guess what happened. i'm pretty sure i fried my PSU,lol. i still have to try the PSU in a differnt computer to see if it's fried.

Turn them around, there are positive and negative sides. Turn all of the connectors the other way, that will fix it. Also, make sure your 12v rail is plugged in for your CPU and that all your voltages are correct on the PSU.

the i have 12v rail plugged in and the voltage is correct for the PSU. i already tried flipping them around. is there a way to tell which wire is positive and negative. the case didn't come with any manual.

No, processes of elimination. Its annoying I know, try turning them around again. And reset your BIOS.

I can't even get into my BIOS. as soon as i turn it on it goes into restarting. it just goes into a loop and never stops.

My knowledge of P4s is great, but this isn't related to that at all.

I recommend you dismantle the whole PC again, and then rebuild it (REWIRE EVERYTHING) If it is still occuring, we can troubleshoot in intervals.

If you're not able to figure it out, go shop for a case that has the connectors identified...

Yeah, it was a pain for me because my case didn't have a manual. I like my Gigabyte board so far from what I've used it but Gigabyte is cheap e.g. No jumpers, No sata drivers, crappy identifications!

Anyway yeah dishdog do what zen said rebuild it. frankly on my build i put some wires somewhere...and it worked lol. but i dont recommend doing that.
