I got a gigabyte Intel lga 1155 motherborad
An i5 processor
Radion hd 5870
8gb of ram
3fans

And well what my question is I also go an 500watt power supple and now I am questing myself and should have waited to get 1 so I could get a 750watt. What do you guys recommends? And will 500watts work?

Hey,

First off it's not all about the wattage. 500 Watts should be perfectly adequite to deal with that setup but aslong as it's a half decent brand.

a decent 500Watt PSU will actual be able to sustain a more powerful system than a cheap nasty 800 Watt PSU.

As ssc456 said, a 500 watt PSU is sufficient for the hardware you listed, as long as it is a high quality product.

Also, take into consideration any upgrades for the future. For instance, if you decided to add another 5870 in the future for Xfire, the 500 watt supply would not be sufficient.
