Thumbs down My computer is running very slow....

I have a Sony PCV-RS320, it is not that old. So I called Sony and they said my warranty is up, and wanted to charge me $20 for the phone call.

This is what is wrong my computer is running above 50% the whole time, without me runing anything, there are a lot of proccesses (37), but that has never been a problem before. If you want my specs just ask, but I do have Hyper-threading.

System Specs would be good.

When did you buy the PC?

Would it be possible for you to list these Processes?

That sounds right; it will be spyware. Things like GMT, Date Manager. Stuff like that. You get things like that from free programs you download from the internet. Most will tell you that they're being installed too but won't tell you how anying they are.

Here are some things you can do to speed up your computer:

-- Delete all temp files (c:\windows\temp\*.tmp)

-- Delete temporary internet files (c:\windows\temporary internet files\*.*)

-- If you use I.E., click on Tools, Internet Options, Delete Files, select "delete all off-line content", click OK

-- Click on Start, Programs, Accessories, Systems Tools, Disk Cleanup

-- Download AdAware, check for updates, run it and remove whatever it finds

-- Download Diskeeper and defrag the hard drive
