Default "My Computer" not showing my second HDD

I'm having a problem with my computer showing my second hard drive. It shows up in the BIOS and in the device manager, but it doesnt show up in My Computer and I cant view any files on it. When I look at it in the device manager, it says that it's working properly. I took it out of my Windows XP computer and put it in a Windows 98 computer and it does the same thing. I mainly want to get all the files I have on it off. I dont have an OS on it. I was using it as a backup. Anyone have any ideas what I can do??

fdisk must be done in dos...

what happened in the first place? you said you used it as a backup. but when you stuck it on your box it doesnt work?

was it already in your box, and stopped working?
or is it from an old computer, and you decided to stick it in?

how did (and how long ago) you use the drive. what brand/size is it?
