Question my cd rom doesnt work please help

my cd rom does not work (sony)
i have updated all my drivers
it still cant detect any cds or write a cd
i tried device manager my cd rom was enabled
please help

With this info probably not.
By the way how do you install cdrom drivers ?
Not since W95 so include Win ver pleeeeeeeeeeeeeezeeeeeeee.
Maybe thats your problem,you don't anymore since plug and play..

Is it still in warrenty? if you, just call them up and get someone round to check it for you. There's not really much we can work on to help with a problem like that.

some software does not work well with some burners-try a different software suite for burning-if the system cannot read a cd but shows it your burner could be dead-try a new one, save the recipt
