higher your HDD space to a 120GB as it's SATA and it's more faster than PATA

well he might not need the fastest cpu there is if hes in that tight of a budget that might be all he could afford for now

I plan on using it mostly for internet and application use. I do a lot of multitasking as well. I want it to play games decently as I plan on getting Half-Life 2 eventually, and I get impulses to play things here and there, but I usually just stick with my console when it comes to single-player games. I pretty much just want it to be a good all-around computer.

I don't need too much disk space. I'm on a 40GB right now, and I'm only using about half. 80GB should be enough for me.

I do, however, feel that the CPU speed is a bit too slow though as Marshillboy mentioned. Can anyone offer a better suggestion? I want an AMD Athlon 64, but I don't want to spend any more than $200 for it. It seems that that leaves me with few options, but maybe you guys know something about it I don't.
