I have a customer who has an ibm laptop docked in the port replicator using the dvi out to 1 monitor and vga out to the other monitor using it in the extended desktop mode. We went and put in a 50" lcd on the wall which he would like to use to duplicate the vga screen as well. I purchased a vga y splitter and a video scaler. vga in to hdmi out. I shipped the parts out to the customer and he hooked the scaler and y splitter up and says he can not get a picture on the vga screens threw the vga y splitter. If he hooks up the scaler to port replicator he gets a picture to the 50". if he hooks up monitor to port replicator he gets picture. Even if he hooks up vga y splitter and does not use second output it wont work. He seems to think the vga y splitter is bad but I tested this setup here and i used an ibm t43, dell flat panel, and a 50" plasma and had picture on all screens. Any ideas why it won't work for his laptop?

Could you explain things a little more clearly and lay out your components using links?
