MS Excel Test Tomorrow

I have a test tomorrow morning and I left it till the last minute to study for it. Its one of these little basic computer skills classes thats part of my college course. I've never used Excel before so I'm wondering what the best way to go about this is.

This test is based on Excel 2003 and we are allowed to have Excel 2003 open while we take the test. I just need to practice at home tonight. I use Linux mainly but I don't wanna learn with OpenOffice Spreadsheet cuz it might be different to Excel. I have an XP partition but it has Office 2007 not 2003. Its completely different to 2003. Should I just practice with the linux version of it?

Is there a lot to learn about Excel? Am I f**ked? I passed the MS PowerPoint test with about 90% just from what I learned playing around with the program but I'd say Excel is more complicated.

I will not waste my valuable expertise to help you cheat on a test. Mods: Locker' up.

:rolleyes:

The hardest part of Excel is programming it to do complex calculations. I taught myself Excel 9 years ago and ended up supplying statistical information to my team leader about everyone on the team, including me.

And I wouldn't have done it without learning it practically.

Get Microsoft Excel if you can and play with it.

I would agree with Remeniz that you just need to explore the program. Make sure you know how to make different kinds of charts and graphs. Also that you know how to use the basic mathmatical functions such as:

=Sum()
=count()
=Product()
=Average()
etc...

Since it is a basic class it won't get too in depth on all of the different functions (thats what those things above are called), but you will probably be expected to know all the basic ones.

i passed my microsoft certified application specialist (MCAS) in excel 2007 in september, i got 96% was quite hard but its ok after u get 2 no the program, just have to know where things are, and how to use things like hlookups and stuff, i also have an MCAS in word 2007 which i got 97% for, im glad i passed them both tho
