S semtex In Runtime Messages 180 Aug 30, 2005 #25 have a go at backing up the music to your computer, then try the format option and after that bring all the music back onto the player, see if that has any effect? Providing the computer will recognise it in it's current state.

Kage Golden Master Messages 13,873 Aug 30, 2005 #26 You know what i'd do? If thats coming up on the playuers screen, connect it to USB using the computer and it should be able to see the files. Hopefully windows will find it. If you don't have the drivers for it though, you can download these from the Creative website: http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/welcome.asp?action=next From here you can download the software link so it recognises the player, and a firmware update. You can then run the program so it recognises it after downloading and then after, i'd drag all the music files off just to be safe. Simply then run the firmware update which should recognise it is plugged in and update, hopefully fixing your problem on the player. I hope this helps
