Moving cable modem to a different cable outlet

Simple question, can this be done without any problems and without calling your ISP?

shouldnt be a problem, both cable outlets connect to the same thing. if you do have a problem just put it back and call your ISP up and ask em how to do it.

Cool, just wondering before I actually do it. ISP calls can take forever just listening to elevator music.

it could get complicated, in my case i had to find where the internet cable comes into the house and it ran to a splitter, then from the splitter it runs to the outlet it was at to begin with, all i had to do was take end of the cable of the new one that you want to hook it up to, and then hook it up to the splitter or into the cable that the internet in on, it wasent that bad, just running all the wire around.

or call you ISP and have them do it
