Default mousepad not working.

Hey guys sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section but i have a hp pavillion dv 4000 right is giving me some trouble. i came home today and got on my labtop and noticed that the mousepad on it was not working at all. keyboards werent working either at the time but i managed to open my labtop and fix the keyboard problem. so back to the point the mousepad is not working and i need help with this issue, i tried googleing it but no luck(i wish google had all the answers) so help anyone?

It sounds like it has had rough treatment.
Check the driver for your mouse pad.
