Default Mouse Lag

I have a problem, for which i would appreciate any help on:

Whenever There is a gif file present on a webpage, my mouse lags and i can feel it not being smooth, this has never happened with my old 1.8ghz emachines. It makes it very horrible to surf the internet with GIF files/pictures.

My Specs:
3gHz
1 gig ram
80gb 7200
6800GT

Thank you,
Vitalik Gnezdilov

you can feel it not being smooth?? sounds to me like you are using a ball mouse and need to clean off the ball and the little rollers that it rides on, they get all kinds of crap in there. and buy an optical mouse, they aren't that expensive and they are tons better

Sorry, I should have specified this, I use a USB Microsoft Basic Optical mouse. And yes i can feel the mouse movement lag, like you can feel lag in a game. I have tried changing USB ports. No use.
