Just built a computer the computer just started up and seemed to be working fine until I realized the keyboard isnt being read and the mouse. The mouse works if I use the USB ports off the case... Any Ideas? MOBO is toast?

Your motherboard is fine. You probably need to enter the BIOS at boot to change your USB settings. If you look in the motherboard manul, it will show you how to enter the BIOS and the location of the USB settings. If you have a USB to PS/2 adaptor (many USB mice and keyboards came with one) you could try using that to get into the BIOS.

Is this a new motherboard?

Check for any misplaced standoffs and for anything that may be shorting out on the motherboard.

its brand new, i checked everything. I had a huge priblem with the case and I think I bent it in such a way I may have shorted the USB's Now I have a new problem getting the cpu out of the mobo this has honestly been theworst install to date.
