Talking motherboard question

im upgrading my motherboard and im looking for recommendations for a new one that will be compatable with this system

hd 4870
amd athlon 64 x2 6400
4gb ram

im looking for a fairly high end one btw

You should really upgrade to a newer CPU instead of spending so much on a high end motherboard.

This. You could improve your system much more with the same budget if you upgraded elsewhere.

What is your budget exactly? And do you overclock?

But if he doesnt really overclock, maybe he should be good with a 780G. And then he can save up some more money for a new cpu later

sorry to change off topic, but my motherboard's memory standard says DDR2 1333 OC.....does that mean i have to overclock it in my BIOS for it to work????

Yes toxicity, you have to overclock your FSB/Reference Clock to get it to 1333mhz (effective)

Your bios will not let you set it manually
