Ok so im going to buy a new motherboard but I have some questions about its compatability with my proessor. Everest says:

CPU Type Intel Pentium 4, 2600 MHz (13 x 200)

Alright now when im looking at motherboards to upgrade too some say:

1. "CPU Type: Intel Pentium 4 Prescott/Celeron D"
--
2. "CPU Type: Intel Pentium D/P4 EE/Pentium 4 HT/Celeron D"
-- or
3. "CPU Type: Intel Pentium 4/Celeron"

Now my question is, since I have a regular pentium 4 without D, EE, or HT behind it, do I have to buy the third choice, or could I buy one of the first two and my processor would still work?

Thanks in advance if anyone helps me out.

Go here: www.cpuid.org
Download: PC Wizard 2006
Run: PC Wizard 2006 -> Under 'Hardware' on the left click the processor icon
-> Under 'Item' in the main window click processor
-> Scroll down 'Information' to 'Mainboard Upgradeability'

There it will list the socket type and max speed of your mobo. If you buy a new CPU, it HAS to be the same socket type and within the speed listed. Also, check through the PC Wizard to see if your mobo supports Hyper-Threading and other jazz.

If you specify your mobo someone might use something similar
