Which motherboard/processor

I'm planning on building a new rig shortly. I hope to get the i7 2600k stop I was wondering which motherboard you would recommend that isn't to much. Also will intel processors work well with a pair of 6950s? How about just one 6950?

The cpu will work with a pair of 6970's and/or a 6950.

I would assume anything higher would be a ton of money. I personally wouldn't spend more than $100.
