Default Motherboard going bad

Hi guys, My current system is starting to fail . I have a I7 980x cpu a Asus P6x58 d premium. I'm thinking the chipset is going bad and I'm looking for some advice on building a new system based on the 4770k cpu. I perfer Asus boards but having a hard time choosing one . I need at least 8 sata ports. Can you recommend a board for say less than 325.00 ? Thank you for helping me out and this will be a gaming rig.
