monitor switches to standby mode automatically??

I am running Windows office xp pro and have a 256mb radeon x800 pro and my moniter is 17inch Samsung Synmaster 172v.

Sometimes my monitor will refuse to work when i boot up and is in the power save mode.
To try and fix this problem i have checked the cables which didn't work.
Also i took another monitor and tested it and it worked. However the problem happened again today with both monitors?? I have looked at power nanagement in control panel but i am not sure what settings should be used?

Any ideas on how to fix this monitor problem?

lo ive had that happen. somethimes the monitor doesnt detect that the comp is turned on. i just turn it off and on to see if the monitor turns on with the comp.
