Well, by all means, if their monitor is like some of the old ones, you could be right and I could be wrong, So it just comes down to what they say when they come back.

No. The only time I have ever seen it change is when you change it manually.

I see your point about it happening when he was changing resolution, but refresh rate is in the same area, and that is the only thing I have ever seen do this. But I will not say that neither guess (since we dont' really know right now) is better than the other.

yes you can he just needs to reboot and pres F8 to get the screen to come up and go into safe mode. then go into his account and change it to 1024x768
