I've got a munch of cash saved up, so I'm going to buy some new parts. I also got 101% on a biology test, so my dad is going to contribute a bit :)
I was going to invest in some water cooling, but I don't think it's a good idea right now in case I want to get an R600 card and whatever I buy doesn't end up supporting it.

So I've decided to buy another monitor and a Raptor. I think I'll go with the 150GB version. Do you guys think the whole clear case deal is worth the $10??

I wanted a nice, high quality monitor to accompany my larger 22" monitor. This one looks really nice:

Before most of you guys tell me that HP monitors suck and that's way overpriced, look at some of the specs. It's got an S-IPS panel, which is super high quality. Pretty good response time, contrast ratio, etc...plus it's pretty good looking and has a nicely adjustable stand.
If you want to make another recommendation, please make sure it's actually in the same category as this monitor. At least 19", no bigger than 20.1. It needs at least a VA panel, preferably an IPS.

how do you know its S-IPS?

go there and buy the 2007WFP, you will enjoy it so much better. It is guranteed S-IPS...and its refurbished so it is hand checked for defects rather than not checked at all for a new monitor. So the chances of getting a bad one is slim to none. I know lots of people that have good experiences with Dell refurbs and I'm pretty sure you will too. ;)

EDIT: The HP is indeed a S-IPS panel.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001225 is the same thing, but with out a built in usb hub, and for $100 less, with a faster response time.($300)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824116075 is also very nice looking, it is a widescreen, but according to my calculations, it has the same pixel concentration, even though it is only a WSXGA+, not a WUXGa that would be the widescreen version of that hp.($200)

I would get one of these 2 monitors, only becuase they have a better contrast ratio, response time, and price tag.

I bet they use the cheaper TN panels that use dithering to achieve the 8-bit colors.

Personally, i think the Dell monitors are still the best out there...next to Samsung as Dell uses Samsung panels, but have better customer service.

Thanks for the link ownage, I think I'll go with that now, very inexpensive for the quality. I never thought about that refurbished idea, that's smart.
+1

@wood_workur, yeah they definitely use TN panels. The whole reason I want another monitor is to get a really high quality one that uses an IPS panel.
