Modification Query

To most of you this will seem like a silly question, but i just want to put my mind at rest.
Tomorrow I'm going to be opening up my new Acer E300 and installing a 7.1 sound card and 512 more RAM.
What, if there are any, are the chances of my computer breaking while i do this?
Obviously i appreciate there will be risks if i go poking around inside with a screwdriver... something i won't be doing.
I just mean in general, when fitting these two new components, I'm aware of static and all that, am I going to be facing any potential threats to my new machine?

Just make sure you arent doing it on carpet or anything that has a lot of static electricity.

Equipment can always be fixed or replaced. Software can always be recovered. The only thng i would REALLY worry about is the static
