OK, so how would one go about overclocking his processor, it really makes no sense to me

Get the msi board alvino pcked out for ya. The board you had had no OC fetures making it ipossible to OC your cpu. Since you are new to OC i don't want to tell you how until you see hwat the risks are and such. Go to OCForums.com It is a forum for OC and cooling. Read the precautions and the way to OC.
