mobo help

They can take the heat so it doesn't really matter.

Oh I know THEY can, but they heat the whole system up, which can cause problems with the graphics card(s) if they are high end.. I had to put Zalman GPU cooler on my moms x850XT PE because of that dumb P4 660. Then I got liquid phase change electro thermal cooling for it and OCed it like crazy just to get some good performance out of it.

so which is better for my purposes, can anyone direct me to some links, I need to know a bit before I make a final descision. Also can anyone tell me anything about mobo's, links, what i need, what is good etc. etc. thanks so far guys

AMD is better in ALL purposes. Don't go with LOUSY Intel CPUs, their technology is antiqued and not well engineered, sloppy as we say... Links AWAY!

PROCESSOR: this will rock your world. The equal AMD before this processor is Overclocked is a 3.5GHz-3.8GHz P4 with HT!!!

Motherboard: This board is excellent and has interesting extras with it!

Processor Cooler: Get this to Overclock that Venice to 2.8GHz with NPs.

I posted these above. What exactly is your budget? I mean, you can go with a dual core 4400+ AMD AthlonX2 and beat ANY P4 on the market in EVERYTHING, even audio codecs, Intel's "pride" as if anyone cared about those....
