Is there a way to force the intergraded to work but not show up in device manager?

it won't let me change any of the volume because it doesn't show any sound device to change the volume on.

rofl.. do you have to have a sound in order to play those games.. You are also lucky because you have a desktop, but i have a laptop and in order to fix my sound card, i have to change the whole motherboard.
