Unhappy Missing Operating Ststem

Ok so my problem is that yesterday i tried to free up some space on my computer and i think i accidently deleted a partition or someting with a logical drive. now when i try to start my computer "missing operating system" appears and it won't start up, i think this has something to do with the primary slave drive. by the way i have windows xp home. thanks for any help.

hmm..

I would boot with your XP cd and enter the recovery console.. Run the fixmbr and fixboot

See if that will bring it back.

do you have a floppy drive? You can make the floppy drive bootup.. It will take 6 floppies.

Go here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

download that file..
your going to need 6 floppy disks.

Boot with the disks, exchanging them when asked.. When you get to the options, choose to enter the recovery console.

select the OS it detects, then type fixmbr and/or fixboot.

exit out and reboot as normal.
