They still do.

Last time I used an Apple computer I was quite impressed as how simple it was to learn the OS.
As for video and pictures editing, I guess that's why companies like Industrial Lights and Magic and Pixar use them.

I like to think macs as this

1700 dollar windows Laptop with overkill specs

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834101179

Almost 2500 dollar mac with worse specs ALL AROUND i will give it a sleek design though

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834100048

In this example, you are paying basically paying 700 dollars for an operating system. And even worse specs

Wowwww, never thought of it that way. LOL. That mac has 2 video cards. One decent one and another crappy one.

Congratulations on comparing two completely different notebooks on specifications alone. That really added to the discussion, didn't it?

First of all, compare the actual size of the two. The Gateway almost weights twice as much as the MacBook Pro. For that difference, the Gateway had better have better specifications. Also add to the fact that the Gateway is a 17" inch notebook, while the MacBook Pro is sized at only 15" inches. Those differences alone should give you a hint that these notebooks are not meant to compete against each other.

Your right, for nearly $730 less, that Gateway should have better specifications than the MacBook Pro.

The fact of the matter is, Mac will never come into the mainstream market. Only 6% of users actually have a mac right? Microsoft doesnt even have to bother releasing commercials, Apple isnt competition.

Yeah, let's do another fair comparison.

Dell Adamo

- 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor with Centrino technology
- Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Service Pack 1 64-Bit
- 2GB 800MHz DDR3 dual-channel memory3
- 128GB3 solid state drive
$1,999.00

http://www.dell.com/content/topics/t...en&s=dhs&cs=19

Apple MacBook

- Intel Core 2 Duo at 2.0GHz
- 2GB DDR3 Memory
- 160GB hard drive1
- NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
- Standard keyboard
- Aluminum unibody
$1,299.00

http://store.apple.com/us/browse/hom...family/macbook

Man, look at that, a $700 difference between two comparable notebooks. Dell really inflated the price there, huh? Makes Apple seem like a budget manufacturer, doesn't it?
