I have had this keyboard in service for over a year, and all of a sudden my shift key function quite working, so I have no special character capability and must use CAPS LOCK for caps. I have updated drivers and tested physical functionality and the key itself is working. Could this be a registry issue. have never cleaned my registry out since i've had this system [about 3 years]. OS-VISTA Home. thanks in advance for assistance.

I seriously doubt it's a registry issue.

A quick Google search tells me that this is a wireless keyboard. Have you tried changing the batteries? Sometimes keyboards can act finicky when thee batteries are running low.

This may sound silly but is there only one shift key? Does the other one work?

If you just go to the desktop screen, and hit the shift key 5 times in a row does it ask about turning on sticky keys?
