Default MIC problem!

My pic seems to work fine when using soundrecorder or audacity but when I play CS or CSS it has a lot of static/background noise and repeats over and over very loudly no matter if I make any noise at all or not. If I say "blah" it goes "blah(wubnkdbwakdwandw = staticy background noise) blah blah blah" with the noise and I don't know what the deal is.

Is it a usb microphone? Try updating your sound drivers and see what happens.

Are you plugging your mic into your onboard sound or do u have a sound card? If you are using the onboard sound then look on the manufacturers website and see if there are any controllers for it, in reguards to mics. If you are using a soundcard, open the control panel for the card and see if there are any controllers for a mic. You might want to see if there are any updated drivers aswell.

Cheers!
