Default Mic issues

Mosto f the time when I use my mic(mic input and USB) when I use ventrilo or try to record anything there is a loud constant buzzing in the background that makes it impossible for people to hear me pretty much. They say stuff like "what are you on a train" and "do you have a jet engine in the background" and I'm not kidding, they actually say this. When I leave my computer off for a day or so though and turn it on my mic is actually fine and then after use it starts to get crappy sounding again. When I wiggle the jack tho they say it gets a little better. I know it is not the actual microphone because I used multiple mics and they all had the same problem, I believe it is the ports on the soundcard(onboard) is this the most likely reason, should I buy a new soundcard?
