Default Metal Sanding(Kama Bay Drive Fans)

So I finally found some Kama Bay fans (120mm) but they weren't the right color, so I am sanding them and spray painting them..

I have two questions, firstly, anyone know the grade of sandpaper I'll need? And secondly, do I need to prime the metal?

Thanks Ya'll

Rustoleum Enamel Primer and Enamel paint should work great. 'Tis what I used on my case. Would have turned out ALOT better if I actually sanded it before I painted. But I was in a rush, and I'm paying for that now. Take your time and remember the side to side, up and down technique. Paint the house...Paint the fence. Now wax on for kicks and giggles.
